1st Mate Rodney
1ST Mate Rodney Hope Johnson is actually Capt. Rodney Johnson! Rodney has grown up working on charter boats in Destin as well as commercial fishing with his dad, Capt. Rodney Senior. Rodney is truly a native son and life long fishermen. He is also a great family man with 4 kids that are being raised to enjoy the outdoors and fishing and hunting.
Rodney’ boys love to fish and will probably be some of the best of the next generation of Destin charter boat fishermen if they chose that route.
Rodney works extra hard when children and families are on board for family fishing trips. Charter boat fishing with kids in Destin, Fl can be some of the most memorable times in a child’s (or teenagers) life.
I know it was for us growing up here fishing in Destin.

With kids, it’s all about the kids!!! No pressure, no yelling and no “your not big enough”.
1st Mate Rodney does whatever it takes to make sure our kids “can do it!!” We have smaller light tackle poles for family fishing and we put the emphasis on the fun and adventure we are having. It’s not hard to make a kids day or even year with some patience and personal coaching.
